Picture the Healing Garden (213-188)
with Saxon Holt and Topher Delaney

Thu, Mar 24, 6:30pm--9:00pm

Join Saxon Holt, Photography Program Director with special guest Topher Delaney, visionary Landscape Architect and owner of Seam Studio, for an evening lecture entitled "Picture the Healing Garden".
This is a presentation of our Master Photography Program - "Picture the Garden". The Program features leading landscape designers discussing how they must visualize a garden's aesthetic before embarking upon a specific design.

In this two-part presentation, Topher and Saxon will engage the audience in a series of questions about gardens, their power to heal, and the aesthetics that come into play when we consider a garden's purpose. The audience will be given a list of questions to stimulate this conversation and the presentation will be taped.

In the second part of the presentation Saxon will discuss how he "visualizes" the garden in order to capture beautiful evocative photographs. This session is a preliminary introduction to the all-day Master Photography Workshop the following Saturday. Saxon will share a new set of photographs taken during the healing process from recent treatments for a detached retina.

This will be a provocative look into the power of gardens and the numerous ways they can heal us, heal our communities and heal the earth. Come prepared to participate.
