Derik Pitman is noted authority on the genus Impatiens and the new and exciting species that are emerging from the Old World. He works with the San Francisco Botanical Garden and is introducing many new species of Impatiens in cultivation. He is founder of the International Impatiens Society and has created the educational website www.mrimpatiens.com. He has also authored several articles on Impatiens for Pacific Horticulture as well as given lectures on his passion.
