WILD Flower Workshop with Tiffanie Turner: Matilija Poppies (213-04272017)

Thursday, April 27; 10:30AM-2:00PM

This simple, gorgeous flower is whimsically known as the “fried egg flower,” and its true name is the Matalija poppy (Romneya coulteri). It is native to southern California and northern Mexico, and is a beautiful specimen that can be found in our the Arthur L. Menzies Garden of California Native Plants.

Join Tiffanie Turner and learn to create your own paper Matalija poppies, which are beautiful for contrast in paper flower arrangements and in headpieces that contain more complicated blossoms, or by themselves in tall posies. Tiffanie will provide all the materials you need for class, as well as additional materials to work with at home.

Please bring a lunch and your favorite scissors if you can.

More information about this flower can be found here.
