March 30, 2017; 7:00PM
Please join us in the Helen Crocker Russell Library on Thursday, March 30 at
7:00PM to welcome Sunset Magazine garden editor Johanna Silver as she discusses the making of her book, The Bold Dry Garden.
Johanna will share her unparalleled
access into the life and garden of Ruth Bancroft, the West’s dry gardening
pioneer. To make this gorgeous book, Silver spent 2 years working with esteemed
photographer, Marion Brenner, and Ruth’s community, including her peerless
horticulturalists, children, and friends—and Ruth herself (age 108!)—to weave
together the story of this inspirational and fearless plant collector.
Copies of The Bold Dry Garden, a Publishers Weekly Best Book of 2016, will be available for sale and for signing.
