DIY Mosaic Planters (213-213)

Sunday, September 7, 10am-4pm

Join local mosaic artist Rita Soyfertis to learn how to design a whimsical mosaic garden planter. In this class you will learn about the history of mosaics, as well as the variety of techniques including grouting, placement and sources for materials for additional projects. At the end of the class, students will take home their own mosaic planter box.

No previous experience necessary; all materials included. Please bring an apron or work clothes.

There will be an hour-long lunch break.

Using mosaics offers creation of space, brightness and abstraction. I see this medium as a connection in between everyday life and art. I received traditional art training in Kiev, Ukraine, have been working in mosaic art for 14 years and teaching art for 30 years. See my work at www.mosaic-art-sf.com.
