Join ethnobotanist Jolie Lonner Egert for an ecological and culinary adventure into world of oaks andacorn food – the original California cuisine. Acorns are an abundant,sustainable, nutritious and delicious food. At this hands-on playshop, you will learn to make acorn food and identify the native oak species in the gardens. Class will cover oak ecology, mythology, medicine and ethnobotany. We will end with a tasting of yummy acorn food. This workshop is appropriate for kids over age 6.

Children between 6 and 14 are $10
