Saturday, June 9th, 12:30pm - 3:30pm ATTENTION: DROP-INS ARE OKAY--EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT PRE-REGISTER, YOU CAN STILL ATTEND THIS WONDERFUL HORTICULTURE CLASS THIS SATURDAY!Using perennials as border plants was a garden design innovation popularized by the great British master gardener Gertrude Jekyll during the Edwardian era. In California, we are fortunate to be able to grow traditional English perennials, in addition to many other perennials which can be grown in our temperate Mediterranean climate. Learn how to create year-round color in foliage and flower for our Bay Area gardens and begin to achieve a similar effect to those English borders popularized by Jekyll. In this class, you will learn how to create a unique planting design with Jim Dixon, a noted Bay Area environmental designer. Over the course of nearly half a century, Jim Dixon has designed and built more than 700 lovely gardens in Northern California. Note: San Francisco Bay Area college students enrolled in any horticultural classes may pay a reduced rate of $10.00 with proof of registration at an accredited institution. |
