Special Class: Basic Chinese Brush Painting (213-191)

Pauline Tsui teaches the basics of Chinese brush painting through her unique East-meets-West style. Learn how to create beautiful works of botanical art while exploring the aesthetic principles and cultural significance of this traditional art form.

Following Ms. Tsui's demonstrations, students will practice basic brush strokes, proper use of ink and color and essential elements of composition. Choose from such botanical subjects as narcissus, peach blossom, bamboo, orchid, lotus, wisteria, peony, plum and pomegranate. No previous brush painting experience is required.
