I Love NY Plants (212-4001)

Wed, Jul 6, 7:00pm--9:00pm

A special presentation for those visiting the Big Apple or for those nostalgic for the Eastern North American Flora

We’ll look at plants native to the forests and meadows of the northeastern U.S. and southeastern Canada, using plants from the region around New York City as examples. We’ll pay special attention to plants that have some connection with those we’re more familiar with here – same family, same genus, or, in a few cases, even the same species. For those of you contemplating a trip to the Big Apple, we’ll also look at some places of botanical interest in the city and the nearby surroundings, including two world-class botanical gardens as well as several beautiful, healthy and diverse natural areas.
