Slugs, Bugs and Bigger Thugs (212-2090)
Safe and Sane Pest Management for Bay Area Gardens

Of the countless critters out there, only a handful are truly a problem for Bay Area gardeners– but what a handful! This workshop explores the best least toxic-remedies to stop these uninvited guests from devouring your garden. Learn how to properly identify what’s chewing on your veggies and digging up your bulbs and what you can do without resorting to toxic chemicals. The top ten offenders will be profiled by local Integrated Pest Management expert and veteran SFBG staff gardener Bob Fiorello. This class is geared to both home gardeners and professionals. We have applied for three hours of DPR Continuing Education for licensed/certified individuals.

Bob Fiorello is an award winning San Francisco horticulturist and pest management professional with over 25 years experience in both the public and private sectors. A gardener at SFBG since 1998, Bob is a founding member of the San Francisco Integrated Pest Management Task Force and the Sustainable Parks Information Network (SPIN). He is also a horticulturist and consultant for prominent local commercial properties
