Drawing on skills from the foundation of Botanical Illustration, this eight-week class focuses on the power of beautiful line work through studies that allow the student to discover and develop their innate ability to draw with perfect accuracy. Using specimens from the Garden and a large variety of pens, we will learn shading for depth, shadow and shape with classic pen markings and modern ink wash techniques. An emphasis on flowers will take advantage of the summer bloom in the Garden.

Priority given to students previously enrolled in Mary Harden's Pencil class. $10 materials fee payable to instructor on first day of class.
