Author and horticulturalist Dr. Glenn Keator's slide presentations will whisk viewers away to California's wild lands without leaving their chairs. We'll make vicarious visits to special sites throughout the northern part of the state, delving into the ecology, pollination, adaptation, interrelationships, and strategies of plants in specific native communities.
Sites include Pt. Reyes National Seashore, Mt. Tamalpais, Annadel State Park in Sonoma County, Mt. St. Helena, and the northern redwood country, comprising the world of local wetlands, coastal scrub and bluffs, wind-stressed sand dunes, mixed-evergreen forests of oak bays and Madrone, vernal grasslands, riparian corridors, and magnificent redwood forests.
We'll follow this series later on in the year with field trips to several of the sites.
