The Gesneriad Family: Hidden Gems of SF Botanical Garden (212-1100)

Join SFBG docent Anna Chou and learn how to grow and care for beautiful Gesneriads like Mitraria coccinea (the Chilean Mitre Flower), Nematanthus (the "Goldfish Plant"), and Episcia (the "Flaming Violet"), as well as African Violets, Moussonia, and Petrocosmeas. Many of the plants in family Gesneriaceae are on display here in the San Francisco Botanical Garden's live collection. At the end of Anna's engaging workshop, you can take home plant cuttings, propagation materials, and other resources.
