We will explore basic techniques for drawing with accuracy and beauty. Together we will discover and practice using our innate drawing abilities. We will learn a basic posture and set-up that enables our untapped abilities to work at their best.
We will sketch outside in the Arboretum using scribbling and sighting. We will learn basic techniques in pencil, pen and ink, ink wash and colored pencil.
All levels are welcome.
$10 materials fee payable to instructor at beginning of first class.
This class can be bundled with J. Charmain Giuliani's morning class.
The morning course (course 213-171) will have students learn about conifers from all over the world, including the world’s tallest, biggest, and oldest trees. Aspects of their growth character, leaves, needles and of course, their cones will be explored with actual live and dried specimens as well as taking walks in the garden. Myths, legends, and tall tales will also be included.
These classes have been specifically designed to be taken together, complimenting and enhancing each other.
