Join Mary L. Harden after J. Charmain Giuliani's morning class (Botany and Taxonomy for Artists and Gardeners, course 213-121) to build on your knowledge of plant and flower structure and create scientifically accurate drawings in various media. The class will use a variety of techniques to render flowers and plants in ways that are both accurate and aesthetically pleasing. These techniques are applicable both to quick sketches in the field as well as for creating detailed drawings in the studio. Classes will provide supportive critique of student work as well as time to work on drawings.

All levels welcome.

This class can be bundled with J. Charmain Giuliani's morning botany and taxonomy class.

This morning course (course 213-121) will help artists and gardeners learn the fascinating taxonomy and botany of plants that have inspired artists, architects, and designers. The class will have a visual focus with examples of art and design wedded to the fascinating stories behind plant discovery and nomenclature. The focus will include: plant structure and function, growth patterns, the life cycle of flowers including pollination and dispersal of seeds, and classification of major plant groups.

These classes have been specifically designed to be taken together, complimenting and enhancing each other.
