Be a Better Birder: Spring Birds In the SF Botanical Gardens (262-132)

Thu, May 11, 7:00pm--9:00pm
Sat, May 13, 8:30am--12:00pm

Interested in becoming a better birder? For bird watchers with some experience, this class will provide an opportunity to improve your identification skills and to welcome returning spring migrants.

The evening classroom session will introduce - by computer projection, field guide practice and frozen specimens - the birds we are likely to see on our field trip. You will gain insight into the lives of these birds and their changing seasonal behaviors.

In the field we will be attuned to the songs of birds as their mating interest is stimulated by the increasing period of daylight. Plants used by birds for food and the varied nesting sites within the SF Botanical Garden will be noted.

You will come away from this class with greater knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of our Bay Area birds.
